Why are we obsessed with the Kardashian family??

'Who The Hell Is Kim Kardashian?' asks Edie Falco

Funny how many different minds tend to think alike.
Even funnier when various celebrities are thinking and speaking out about the same exact thought that strikes your mind one lazy afternoon.

I'm sure most of everyone in the world know by now of the engagement story (more like the breakout headlining news) about Ms. Kim Kardashian and Mr. Kris Humphries.
whether you wanted to know by choice about their short courting period,
or that this kid who made $3.2 M salary last year was somehow able to afford a $2 million dollar ring to put on that extremely manicured finger,
their pre-nup agreements,
and stories about supposed cheating already after only a month since the engagement news hit the stands..

it does not matter if you wanted to be privy of so much information about Ms. Kim Kardashian.
why?
because the clan that is the Kardashian juggernaut will make sure you hear about it.
just like they will also make sure they were paid for it.

try flipping through E! channel any day of the week, you will most definitely land on a show that has to do with at least one of the Kardashians.
every once in a blue moon when there are absolutely nothing to watch, i will leave the tv on and i catch myself zoning into their show like some mindless drone.
after the show ends, i feel so empty.
why do people find this entertaining??
-they wake up face full of make up, hair that does not move a strand, i feel like they are wearing a helmet!
-go to work at Dash.  seriously?  they own boutiques and yet they do not seem to have much fashion sense.
-random banters.
-some more random banters.
-appearances from all of the sisters' man of the moment.
-and then of course the rest of the family.

but really... what are we getting out of the show as the viewers?

Keeping Up with the Kardashians show was apparently successful enough to have lasted since 2007 and spawned 2 spin-off shows.
after digging deeper to understand this odd fame, here is what i found.
(and please correct me if i'm wrong)

Kim Kardashian
-born October 21, 1980
-daughter of late attorney Robert Kardashian (he was worth about $30 Mil when he passed)
-10 siblings. 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just imagine, as one of them gets older, they'll just keep replacing with a younger version of themselves!
-married 2000-2004
-made sex tape with Ray J in 2007 and received $5 Mil from Vivid. rose to fame!
-dated Reggie Bush afterwards. and string of random men followed.
-starred in a few tv shows as herself. beside from playing herself on one of K-fam reality series.
-starred in a few movies. horrible... just horrible ones..
-apparently recorded a single.
-boutique Dash owner.

if you want to know more, here you go : Kim Kardashian
i am just not impressed.
what has she accomplished in her 30 years of life that makes her opinions matter so much?
don't you dare tell me you are a hard working woman because you created your boutiques, perfume line, and shoe selling website.
all of that happened because you made a sex tape which you were handsomely paid off,
did a reality tv series about absolutely nothing,
and now you are shoving down all these products down our throats.

i must admit the woman did make lemonade out of otherwise quite devastating experience in a woman's life, like a sex tape.
also she does seem like a genuinely nice person.
but c'mon..
that whole family made a lemonade churning factory out of that and they probably never have to worry about something called money when rest of the America is barely scrapping by.

Why are we obsessed with the Kardashian family??
who knows..
obviously Edie Falco and Reese Witherspoon are wondering the same thing.
maybe it's all that make up, maybe it's Scott, maybe it's the mom who seems more like their pimp, maybe it's the K's in their names..
all i can say is, i am so SO over it.
they are everywhere and i am tired of the fad.
just like i got tired of her friend Paris Hilton years ago.
